Teether
Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 12, 2026
Teether is an app for tracking how long you wear your dental aligners. It is built to be private by default. In plain terms: Teether does not collect any of your data, and the developer has no access to it.
The short version
- No accounts, no sign-up, no login.
- No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.
- No servers operated by the developer. Your data never gets sent to us.
- Everything Teether records stays on your device (and, if you turn it on, your own iCloud).
What Teether stores
Teether saves the information you enter or generate while using it:
- The times you mark your aligners in and out.
- Your current aligner number and the dates you switched aligners.
- Your settings (daily wear goal, reminder preferences).
This information is stored locally on your device. It is never transmitted to the developer and is not used for any purpose other than showing you your own tracking data.
iCloud sync (optional)
If iCloud is enabled, Teether stores a copy of the information above in your personal iCloud account (using Apple's iCloud key-value storage) so your data can be restored if you reinstall the app and can sync across your own devices.
This data lives in your private iCloud. It is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy, and the developer cannot access it. If you prefer not to use iCloud, the app works fully with local storage only.
Export and import
Teether lets you export your data to a file and import it back. Any file you create is under your control — you choose where to save it and whether to share it. The developer never receives these files.
Notifications
Reminders (for example, to put your aligners back in) are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device using the system's local notifications. No notification content or timing is sent off your device.
Third parties
Teether contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party libraries that collect data. Your information is not sold, shared, or disclosed to anyone.
Children
Teether does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Apple and the App Store
Apple may collect standard diagnostic and usage information as part of operating the App Store and iOS. That information is governed by Apple's own policies, is outside the app's control, and is not shared with the developer in a form that identifies you.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
